Ripped
I find the month of January as the start and end of many things. For example, while it marks the start of the year and of new beginnings, it kind of also means the end of cold season in the Philippines. But while it’s not exactly summer yet, current temperature indicates that we’re almost there though not quite. And nope, it’s not like Spring, if that’s what you think. But I’m not an expert on this, so what do I know? Nonetheless, it is in these months (Jan-Mar) that I find it hardest to find clothes that are weather-appropriate.
What I'm Wearing: Snapback (H&M), Ripped Denim Jacket (Royalty), Ripped Jeans (H&M), Sneakers (Bershka)
Among my favorite pieces that I can always rely on, however, are ripped denims. Aside from the fact that they’re timelessly stylish, they also give that extra ventilation you’d need in a climate like this. HA! But one problem with ripped denims, whether jeans or jackets, is that it’s hard to find one that looks high-end. Don’t get me wrong, I find a lot of stylish ones but not a lot of them really look expensive, if you know what I mean. At one time, I have scoured every foreign retail store for a good ripped denim jacket but failed to find one. So, it is in my complete surprise that I’d find one in a local online store.
Probably my current favorite, this ripped denim jacket from ROYALTY CLOTHING is what ripped denim jackets should look and feel like- vintage yet modern, rustic yet expensive, crazy yet not over the top. Be sure to check them out at royalty.com.ph or their instagram account @royaltyclthng
