To New Beginnings!
They say that life is a masterpiece or an epic saga in progress that we try to fill-in on each day that we draw breath. But even at old age, no one in is his right mind would be too eager to finish his story just yet; it’s just one of those things that happen on its own. Instead, we close a chapter as another one begins. This year of 2016, another one has just began. Looking back at 2015, I could think of at least one or two things that I could ponder on having done differently. Don’t get me wrong; good or bad, I do not completely regret anything that I have done nor happened in my life- nope! Still, the question remains- what if? But neither you nor I could go back, could we? So we start anew. For like what Carl Bard once said, “although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”. So, c’mon! Bring out the imaginary pen and notebook, and let’s write this chapter with a better beginning.
Among my resolutions this year is to see the world in more ways than just one. While I also mean to travel a lot more, maybe it’s not the only way to truly see the beauty of Earth. Maybe we don’t always have to go halfway across the globe to see more of it. Maybe sometimes, we just have to get out of our own little bubbles and be more sensitive of our own surroundings. Maybe we just have to realize that there are people who think differently than us, other lifestyles that we couldn’t think of living, cultures that may seem strange compared to our own, and religions that could challenge our own beliefs, and so on. Maybe we also have to observe, listen, and appreciate the little things in our own everyday lives- that tree we pass on everyday outside our house, that story of a world long gone that our grandparents describe on repeat, that single star at night that shines amid the city lights, etc. Maybe when we do these, the world would seem bigger, stranger, better. Maybe. I don’t know. But I’d like to find out, and that is my goal for this year of 2016.
What I'm Wearing: Sweater (Nike), Long Shirt (H&M), Espadrilles (Zalora)
I don’t know about you guys, but while it’s not at all necessary, I’d like to see the world in good clothing. HAHAHAHAHA! It’s shallow, I admit, but you know me. So here I am, on what I so-called my “walk-wear” attire, in my best Zalora slip-ons, trying on a different scene for my first week of the year. It’s not evident in the photo, I realize, but for this year, my family and I went up into the highlands for a week of trees, fruit juices, and relaxation, which is something different from the usual nightclubs, shopping districts, and other city attractions where I’d normally spend my new year. It’s not much, I know, but maybe it’s a good start.
So tell me, how do you plan to write this chapter? Well, whatever it is you decide to do, you can check out ZALORA for casual footwear like loafers and slip-ons, and reach for your goals in better shoes!!!
