From being a standard worker clothes to becoming a runway staple, there is no denying that denim has marked its place in the fashion scene, setting its place at the very top of the game. Yes, that humble denim now reigns supreme. I mean, who doesn't own any denim article these days?

What I'm Wearing: Cardigan (Zara), Denim Jacket (Zara), Jeans (Topman), Leather Shoes (Harley Davidson)

But how? How did it reach the top? Personally, i think it has something to do with versatility, practicability, and of course, style. Nonetheless, there are still others who doesn't know how to style denim. Probably because of the fact that, it being an everyday clothing makes it hard to come up with new & unique style. Either that or because it's just too common that's so easy to take it for granted. So let me share three styles that you could consider to boost your denim getup.

The Double Denim

In pulling off a double-denim, remember to keep the washes and/or texture different. But go ahead and try those with the same washes if you're sure you could it off. Otherwise, try to avoid going exactly the same for the look might blend too much. Thereafter,  break it up by accessorising. This'll surely elevate your double denim a notch higher.

Flannel/Plaid + Denim

You may also partner your denim with flannels. Their combination just gives that country-style-street-look that girls just pit themselves for. But remember to choose your flannels that are of darker shades unless you wanna look like some cowboy (unless that's what you're aiming for cause that's cool too)

Leather-Denim Combo

Leather are Denim are quite similar. They go well with everything, they're perfect transitional pieces and are perfect for layers. So why not pair them, right? When supple leathers are mixed with distressed-denim, the end result is something that looks luxurious. Also, when I see leather mixed with denim, I am usually reminded of the biker gangs. Thus, this combo is good for it gives off the very manly vibes. A good cherry on top, indeed.
